SEO and Social Media – The Best Strategy for a Business to Succeed in 2012

SEO News:

We already have one month since 2012 came in. Because of this, many large companies and even the small ones have begun to develop their own search engine optimization strategies for this year. While those who have already built their team might restructure so they could stay competitive, those companies who have not yet started anything regarding this marketing challenge will soon get ready to dive in. Whichever your company is, one thing is for sure: being visible is a vital factor to survive and be successful on the internet. Search is so important that it cannot be ignored.

Social networks are growing so quickly. We already have Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and the newest is Google+. You will not be able to read the business and technology sections of a certain newspaper or news website without seeing those brands at least once every visit. Right now, Google has more than 40 million users of Google+ since the day it was launched last June 2011.

With all the news that Search Engine Optimization and Social Media Optimization are making, more business executives undoubtedly see how SEO and SMO are not going away anytime. But how does a company begin to use the power of SEO and social media together if they haven’t entered this very significant area of business yet? – It can be done by strategically investing in the right department and employees who understand well about SEO and social media.

All businesses must have their own social media and search department in case they have none, while for those who don’t have plans of maintaining those kind of departments must outsource. Whichever way you want, the point is you must provide a place within your business for a social media marketing budget for the year 2012.

A report that was recently released by WebMarketing123 entitled 2011 State of Digital Marketing Report says that even though SEO is the leading choice of online marketers, 60% of the respondents revealed that they still plan to use SMO in 2012 to increase their budget. While for over 500 marketing professionals polled, there are 68% who said that they gained leads through the use of Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter, and 55% closed deals from social networking sites.

Those kinds of reports prove that SEO and SMO play a very important role in business’ success most especially for those who use internet. More and more businesses are launching their own websites and because of this, the competition keeps on increasing. Remember that the existence of your business is not enough. You will need to hire educated staff or a knowledgeable SEO company who can use the latest SEO / SMO techniques that will help promote your site to leading search engines – in order to maintain top positions on Google, Yahoo, as well as on those social networking sites.

*SMO (Social Media Optimization) = SMM (Social Media Marketing)
